Personally, when I first heard Japanese and Chinese speak, their languages had the intonations of the Fon Language of southern Dahomey (now called the Republic of Benin). Also, the Ashanti, and indeed all those who belong to the Akan communities, name their kids according to the day of the week they were born, but their neighbors, the Ga-Adangme have an altogether different naming system. As a personal experience, I know that some of the clans of the Ga who now spread from Accra to the southern part of the above-mentioned republic of Benin name their firstborn girl “Ayele”. On this very YouTube channel, there is a female broadcaster from Ethiopia going by the same name of “Ayele” as her middle name. Talk about the distance: From Ghana, in West Africa to Ethiopia! There is a lot that Africans and people of African descent have to learn about themselves. Thank you for the research!
