Between growing up in The Nederlands and twenty years ago emigrating to Canada, we liived and worked for four years in Singapore, not as expatriates but with local companies. That’s of course not enough to become an expert on Chinese culture. But the biggest lesson of life I learnt there was “DON’T MAKE OTHER PEOPLE LOOSE FACE”!!! It goes very deep and is applicable in any culture. Even here in Canada I always have it in the back of my mind. But I don’t think Trump has even heard about it.
